Video: At Aldi Next Week: Inexpensive Gaming Laptop And PC On Offer - Is It Worth Buying?

It starts with the Medion Erazer P15603. The gaming laptop will be available for sale at Aldi Nord from July 30, 2020 for € 872.03 from the “Aldi Supplies” program. For this price, customers can expect a 15.6-inch laptop with a full HD display on which Windows 10 is already installed.
An i5-9300H is used as the processor, which at least offers 4 cores and 8 threads with a maximum clock rate of 4.1 GHz. The chip's performance is easily sufficient to be able to play even current games without any problems. In addition, a lush 16 GB of RAM are built into the notebook - a real rarity in this price category. The 512 GB PCIe SSD is also a real hit. In addition, Medion is installing another 1 TB HDD.

So far, the gaming laptop may sound like a good deal, but one component is still missing in our list: the graphics card - and that is the biggest sticking point in this case. Because only an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 is installed in the Medion Erazer P15603. The performance of the graphics card is currently still sufficient to be able to play even games like Battlefield 5 in high settings with about 60 FPS, but the GPU is already running out of steam with Metro Exodus. Ergo: The graphics card will develop noticeably into the bottleneck of the system within the next few years.

We looked around for alternatives and found what we were looking for: Notebooks cheaper, for example with the Acer Nitro 5, offers a similar gaming laptop with a significantly better graphics card at almost the same price. The only restrictions: Windows 10 is not preinstalled, and the notebook only offers 8 GB of RAM, which you can easily replace.

Medion Erazer X67128: Mid-range gaming PC on offer at Aldi
If you prefer to own a stand computer, take a look at the Medion Erazer X67128 instead. The gaming PC will also be available at Aldi Nord from July 30, 2020 via the “Aldi Supplies” program. 969.03 euros are called for the game calculator, but is it really worth the money?

A look at the technical data tells us: So the processor used is an i5-9400, a 1 TB PCIe SSD on which Windows 10 is already pre-installed, a strong 16 GB RAM and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060. All in all on paper it looks like a round compilation for playing in WQHD. If you also want to use ray tracing without DLSS, you should rather be satisfied with Full HD.

That's why ray tracing is a real game changer:
What is so great about ray tracing?
But the PC is not a real price breaker. At Memory PC you can get a gaming computer with Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060, 240 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD for 799 euros if you use the discount code mpcawin10. The only restrictions: In contrast to Aldi, you only get a 24-month instead of 36-month guarantee, and you also have to find an operating system yourself. Windows 10 is not preinstalled here.
Nevertheless, in our eyes this is the much better offer - even if Aldi clearly offers a rounder "all-round carefree" package with its gaming PC. Finally, you also get a USB mouse and keyboard included. The Aldi offer is not a bad deal per se, but there are still attractive alternatives.
