Samsung already introduced the "Infinity-O-Display" with the Galaxy S10: thin devices with a slightly rounded display on the sides and a single front camera that "floats" as a small hole in the display. Almost the entire area of the front is used for the display. There is no home button with a fingerprint sensor.

Display size and technology | 6.3 inch / 15.94 cm Dynamic AMOLED display Gorilla Glass 6 | 6.8 inch / 17.16 cm Dynamic AMOLED display Gorilla Glass 6 |
Display resolution | FHD + with 2,280 x 1,080 pixels and HDR10 + | WQHD + with 3,040 x 1,440 pixels and HDR10 + |
Dimensions (HxWxD) | 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm | 151.0 x 71.8 x 7.9 mm |
A 10 MP front camera with an F2.2 aperture was installed in both devices. HDR10 + and Dynamic Tone Mapping should ensure uniform colors and brightness on the display.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is disappointing in terms of resolution and even the Note 10 Plus only marginally outperforms the previous generation of devices. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 already had a resolution of 2,960 x 1,440 pixels, which clearly exceeds the Note 10 and the height of the Galaxy Note 10 Plus is only 80 pixels missing.

Display features on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and 10 Plus

With the Infinity-O-Display in the Note 10, Samsung continues a working principle that has already proven itself in the Galaxy S10. Both models dispense with the "notch bar" and accommodate the camera in a hole in the middle of the upper edge of the display. It is ideally positioned for selfies. At the same time, Samsung is on the safe side and doesn't experiment with an invisible camera behind the display like Oppo or Xiaomi do.

As has been shown, the fingerprint sensor in the display of the Galaxy S10 also worked well, so that this principle can now also be found in both versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. The fingerprint is recorded by an ultrasound sensor below the display to unlock the device.
