2023 Author: Sheila Hailey | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-11-26 15:18
Update: Since after the first evaluation with almost 10,000 participants, over 17,000 readers participated, we want to tell you the current values.
- 51%: yes
- 35%: no
- 14%: Maybe
(As of June 1st, 2019 at 11:50 am)
More than half of the GIGA readers would continue to buy a Huawei phone. You are welcome to continue participating in the survey (below). At a certain distance we will evaluate the result again.
Original article:
There is great uncertainty in Germany. Huawei smartphones that are already in circulation still receive security updates and can use Google services such as the Play Store, but major Android updates such as Android 10 Q are currently in the stars. But does this affect our readers' willingness to buy? Below is the result of our survey.
Are you going to buy a Huawei or Honor smartphone now?
Almost 10,000 readers took part in our survey. That alone shows that you are concerned with this topic. The following result was achieved:
- 43%: no
- 39%: yes
- 18%: Maybe
(As of May 24, 2019 at 4 p.m.)
Although 43 percent voted "No", a lot of support for Huawei came across despite the big problem. 39 percent would continue to buy a Huawei or Honor phone. 18 percent are simply not sure. The backing for Huawei is still very large - this is also shown again and again in the comments.

What exactly is it about?
HUAWEI and HONOR soon without a Play Store: What you need to know NOW
The U. S. government, led by Donald Trump, uses Huawei as a leverage for a trade agreement with China. Although there is always talk of a "great danger" from Huawei, the US President has now admitted that Huawei is only used as a game ball between countries. If you agree with China, the "big danger" would no longer exist. We summarized what that means for you in the video above.
In conclusion, one can say that one should not panic at the moment. If you have a Huawei phone, you should sit out the crisis. If there is a deal between the US and China, everything will normalize. If not, Huawei has its own operating system in hand and could possibly continue. Overall, a very tricky situation in which there is only one thing to do - wait and see.
