Hello, my name is Marvin Basse, I am 39 years old = and an editor at GIGA Tech.

How long have you been at GIGA and what are you doing here?

I have been with GIGA since 2013 and as the editor I am mainly responsible for the software area. I also do a few side tasks, so I take care of the GIGA newsletter, which is well known to some readers.

Internally, I am known for entertaining my colleagues with sometimes more, sometimes less interesting anecdotes from my extensive general knowledge.

What is your area of expertise at GIGA?

As already mentioned, my area of expertise is software. This means that I am looking for good apps for Windows and Android, among other things, and write these test and (hopefully) informative articles.

What can you do especially good?

I am quite good at analyzing things soberly and can explain well. In addition, I literally absorb any knowledge I have and therefore, as already mentioned, have considerable general knowledge.

One of my great passions is music, I love listening to mostly rock music, playing the guitar and sometimes singing too.

Where are you really bad at?

In contrast to music, painting and drawing are not mine at all. Although I am reasonably good at many sports, for some reason I cannot play volleyball at all.

Which smartphone do you use?

I use the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) because in my opinion it is still one of the best mid-range smartphones and better than its direct successors.

Which current technology arouses your curiosity most?

Virtual reality in games. I dreamed of being able to play Resident Evil or Doom in VR twenty years ago and the dream has come true. I am excited to see how virtual reality gaming will develop.
