The Spotify app and web player itself are of course completely free of charge - just like the actual account. For certain functions and unlimited music enjoyment, however, you have to take out the premium subscription. If you can live with advertising and the limited options for playback, you can of course also use "Spotify Free" for free. However, the streaming service becomes more of an online radio than an on-demand service, with which you can freely decide which song will be played next and thus live out the DJ in you. The premium membership gives you completely free choice over the full range of Spotify and does not interrupt your listening pleasure with advertising. With the free version, you have poorer audio quality, can only skip a limited number of tracks and have to live with random playback.
The family subscription allows you to share the premium subscription with up to 5 other family members, all of whom can use their own Spotify account. Spotify sees family members as people who have the same address, i.e. live in the same household. Here we explain how you invite family members or roommates into the family subscription.
With the Spotify student discount, it should be noted that this is valid for a maximum of 12 months (1 year) and that you have to be registered with UNiDAYS as proof of student hours.
