A “dark mode” in an app or a program changes the user interface to dark colors. The function is also called "night mode" or "dark mode". It is particularly useful in the evening so that the eyes are not blinded by the bright screen.

Scientifically speaking, the "dark mode" should lead to the eyes being relieved.

The dark mode trend

According to a survey by the website basicthinking.de, 52 percent of the approximately 1,800 respondents use “dark mode” and find it “super pleasant”. “38 percent didn't know what dark mode was and 10 percent still had a mixed opinion about it.
