People are nostalgic beings, especially when, like us, you have long broken the sound barrier of 40 years. With the sounds from the 80s we feel a pleasant shower, we know the hymen of the time by heart and we despise today's dirt on the radio.

But was everything really better in the past? Of course not - we old sacks only lack the time and will to accept new things. The companies also know this and pack their products in the forms we are familiar with. A tactic that promises security and gives us a feeling of home. With success: For example, the automotive industry VW Beatle, Fiat 500 or the Mini has been selling us as modern quotes from well-known icons for years.

Retro too, but really cool? The "new" Nokia 8110 in the video:

Ultimately, however, it is important: The technology behind it must not be "old school", but must be up to date. Moto seems to have taken this to heart with the new Razr, after all, foldable displays are really new. Bringing it onto the market in a retro shape is actually kind of hip. With Nokia, however, I am not so sure: Who still needs a feature phone today, even if it works in the LTE network? Even sprightly pensioners prefer to use their smartphones.

Retro yes, but only if the technology comes from today. Then such smartphones are cool and not embarrassing
