Playstation 4 has been very popular since its release. Since 2016, players have been able to immerse themselves in virtual worlds and let off steam with the Playstation VR. Since the announcement of Playstation 5, fans have been wondering what will become of the VR headset. Sony has already announced backwards compatibility of the new console, so that you can use your "old" PSVR on your new console and do not have to buy a new headset.

So very few have expected that there will be a new VR headset in the near future. Now, however, a developer of ChickenWaffleVR has blabbed out on Twitter. With his private account, he posted that he is extremely happy to develop a game for Playstation 5 and that he can hardly wait. Followed by the hash tag "PSVR 2". Since then, the Internet has been full of it.

After the leak to the appearance of the PS5, a patent for a new Playstation VR has now emerged. Thanks again to the Dutch side of Let's Go Digital:

The images suggest that the second generation of Sony's VR glasses will not be a completely new system. However, one innovation is particularly striking: there is no cable. Anyone who has almost brought himself down with his cable while playing VR knows what a relief that would be.

Also stinging the many cameras out. The PSVR 2 is said to offer a transparent mode, which makes the VR glasses appear transparent. This in turn opens the door to augmented reality games. That would be incredibly interesting paired with the wirelessness, of course. Your own living room could become a creepy cabinet, trenches or amusement park - with much more freedom of movement! A development that I personally would very much welcome.
