Ultimate Ears BOOM 2: Who is the speaker suitable for?

Compared to other Bluetooth speakers in the same price range, the Ultimate Ears BOOM 2 lacks a bit of the eponymous boom. While mids and highs are very clean, one or the other lower tone is in vain. The overall tonal impression is tinny due to the weak bass. The BOOM 2 scores with an excellent all-round charisma and still sounds well differentiated even at low volume.

However, the big advantage of the Bluetooth box is its outdoor capability. The robust body of the speaker can withstand drops of up to 5 meters and is also waterproof (IPX7 certified). The UE BOOM 2 can fall into the pool at the party in the garden, be exposed to heavy rain while walking or fall from the bike into the muddy stream on a mountain bike tour - none of these scenarios should prevent the Bluetooth box from continuing to play.
