Star Trek Picard Season 2: Jean-Luc's Journey Will Continue In 2021

In mid-December 2019, Deadline's colleagues had already heard that a second season of "Star Trek: Picard" from CBS should have been given the green light - now it's official. As the Hollywood Reporter reports, Julie McNamera (Executive Vice President of Original Content at CBS All Access) made the following statement at the presentations by the Television Critics Association:

In addition, Terry Matalas was withdrawn from his work on the MacGyver reboot to assist the team behind Star Trek: Picard as an executive producer in season two. In addition to his screenplay work on the TV series "12 Monkeys", Matalas has also worked on the set of "Star Trek: Voyager" and "Star Trek: Enterprise".
