Apple launched its new iPhone SE 2020 a few weeks ago. It looks like a classic iPhone 6 to 8, but has a partly new interior with the same A13 processor that also clocks in the 11th generation iPhones. How good is the Logitel offer?

Is the offer worth it? We issue the invoice: The monthly costs over the minimum contract term of 24 months amount to 24 × 24.99 euros = 599.76 euros. There are also one-off costs of 19.99 euros (connection fee) and 4.99 euros (iPhone SE with 64 GB) and 49.99 euros (iPhone SE with 128 GB). We come for the minimum contract term of 24 months at a total cost of 624.74 euros for the contract with iPhone SE with 64 GB and a total of 669.74 euros for iPhone SE with 128 GB.

Let's keep the value of the hardware against it: According to the price comparison portal idealo, the iPhone SE currently has an online best price of 459 euros in the 64 GB version and 509 euros in the 128 GB version. If you subtract these prices from the total costs just calculated, you get 165.74 euros or 160.74 euros. Calculated down to individual months, that's just 6.70 euros for the tariff.

These are absolutely fair prices. In our experience it is extremely rare to get away with an iPhone contract without an "Apple surcharge", but this is the case here.

You should note two things: Logitel wants to sell buyers a Kaspersky license, which is chargeable from the 2nd month. The contract also includes Vodafone SpeedGo, the infamous data automation system that can lead to additional costs if you use up your inclusive data volume. You should deactivate these options or cancel them promptly. Apart from that, our conclusion is: Anyone who is into the new iPhone can strike here without regret.
