Above all, users appreciate the naturally coordinated sound, which is not as bulky in the bass as the Sonos One or the Apple HomePod do. With the in-house “MusicCast” multi-room system, the small Yamaha speaker essentially offers the functions that Sonos also scores with customers. It can be used as a single box (e.g. in the kitchen), but can also expand a Yamaha TV soundbar with back channels for film effects.

As always with multiroom systems, the following also applies here: you have to choose a manufacturer and stick with it, because the systems from different brands are not compatible with each other. AirPlay 2 enables a certain amount of collaboration, at least in the Apple world, for example when playing music synchronously in different rooms on different AirPlay 2 speakers.
