Philips Hue On Offer: Starter Set With Two Smart Light Bulbs Now Cheaper

To make entry into the world of intelligent lighting a little easier, Amazon is now offering the starter set "Philips Hue White & Color Ambiance" including the bridge at a lower price. Previously 89.99 euros were due, the two LED lamps of energy class A are now available for 79.99 euros. At the beginning, the set was even launched for € 149.95.

Both lights fit in an E27 lamp holder. These are fifth generation Hue lightbulbs, meaning that Bluetooth is now also supported as a second radio standard alongside Zigbee. Settings can also be imported into the Hue app, which was not the case with previous generations. The fifth generation has been available in Germany since autumn 2019.

Philips Hue: control via app or Alexa

The two Ambiance lamps are controlled using a smartphone or tablet. Here, either the Hue app can be used or a voice assistant can be used. Accordingly, the lamps can also be controlled via products such as Amazon Echo including Alexa. It is also possible to synchronize with music and films.

The offered Philips Hue offer a total of 16 million colors. The brightness is given as 806 lumens and the color temperature is 2,000 Kelvin. The power consumption is 9 watts per lamp.

Philips Hue: Even cheaper without a bridge

If you already have a bridge, i.e. a separate, central control unit for Hue lamps, you should rather devote yourself to another offer on Amazon. Without the bridge, there are two fifth generation Hue lightbulbs in the set, currently reduced for € 63.88 instead of € 76.03. Alternatively, the Philips bridge can be obtained alone for 44.83 euros.
