Spotify Family & Duo Subscription: Music Streaming Simultaneously With Multiple Users

The premium subscription offers you many advantages over free membership of the music streaming service Spotify. With a family or duo subscription, you can share these advantages with other users, save money and get additional functions on top of that. We have summarized the advantages, functions and differences clearly for you here in the table:

Note: Due to the reduction in VAT, subscriptions are a little cheaper until January 01, 2021. So you get your duo for 12.67 euros / month and family for 14.62 euros / month.

Spotify Duo & Family: share costs

The duo or family subscription only has to complete one account - this main account is then responsible for the total price. Every additional user needs free Spotify access and is then invited from the main account to find out exactly how it works here: Spotify - Invite Family Members. The costs cannot be divided directly over several payment methods via Spotify. So you have to decide for yourself how you want to share the costs.

Student flat share: "Duo" or "Spotify Student"?

If you live in a student flat share and are considering sharing a duo subscription for two, you should check beforehand whether you are both entitled to use the Spotify student subscription. This is valid for 12 months (can be extended to a maximum of 4 years) and costs only 4.99 euros per person per month and is therefore even cheaper than the duo subscription.
